Czar Nicholas II
Czar Nicholas II was Russia’s last emperor (Czar), he was the eldest son of Czar Alexander III and he succeeded the throne on the 18th of May, 1894. He had a minimal amount of experience in governing which made him unsure about his decisions yet most importantly unsure about what is good or bad for his people.
The Czar's parents, Alexander III and Marie Feodorovna, excluded him strictly from the outside world (Western High School, Michael Hansucker) This affects his understanding of how people lived in the outside world which soon affects the way he rules as his ideas of what are important are very narrow-minded, he only sees the event yet not the impact on the people.

Impacts on societyAlthough Czar Nicholas II was an intelligent leader he was noted down as a failure. It was difficult for him to decide what was right or wrong, he hesitated to draw his own conclusions and he lacked political knowledge and experience.
During WWI of 1914, Czar Nicholas II took command of the army and left the governing of Russia to Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna and her advisor Rasputin. Displeasure spread through Russia, the army was tired of war and food supply slowly decreased. Caused by the displeasure, the governing of Russia was a chaos. In March of 1917, Czar Nicholas II was forced to resign as Czar and his entire family was shot in Yekatinburg on July 16 of 1918 (Spartacus Education, Peter McMillan). Relation with the novelIn the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, Mr Jones symbolizes Czar Nicholas II the leader before Stalin (Napoleon). Mr Jones was a drinker and was unsuccessful in taking control of the farm passed on from generations of his family, this mirrors how the throne of Czar is passed on through generations from the family of Czar Nicholas II yet at the end he fails to maintain the throne and got his entire family executed. Although Mr Jones was not executed, but he was exiled from his farm through the riot of the animals, such as the overthrow of the Czar. In February 1917 the Russian revolution has caused riots upon the people of Russia, Czar Nicholas II sent the military to suppress the people but they grew in mass and strength and it grew to the point where the Czar was forced to abdicate his throne (Spartacus Education, Peter McMillan). This symbolizes the situation when the animals took action to overthrow Mr Jones, Jones found some of his friends (representing the military) to help on the situation but at the end he was forced to give up the farm and run away.

Reason/Success?
Orwell represented this event because he wanted to emphasise the situation and the failure of Mr. Jones (Czar Nicholas II). This leads on further into when Napoleon (Stalin) takes over yet they mirror the exact same situation as when Mr Jones was present. Orwell wants to express this, Jones and Czar, because he wants the reader to know of how Czar failed and how Stalin, who aided the downfall of the Czar, “continued onto his footsteps” and allow the failure to endure. Napoleon (Stalin) and Snowball (Lenin) helped on the downfall of Jones (Czar) and made this happen based on the words of Old Major (Karl Marx), this again mimics history and the behaviours of the historical figures as the Bolsheviks were highly regarding the theories of Karl Max.
Orwell was successful in mirroring the behavior of the Czar on society with Jones as he clearly expressed Jones' failure, he failed to maintain the “throne” (farm) and he failed to control his people (animals) causing them to go against him due to their displeasure. He has also successfully linked up the other historical figures such as Karl Marx and Stalin towards the Russian revolution or the Animal revolution taken place in the novel.
